PLASCO and Poland’s Industrial Development Agency PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 18 February 2010

The aim of the Agreement is to define the potential areas of cooperation in innovative technologies.
More specifically, the main interest of the parties is the potential building in Poland of thermal
conversion facilities using plasma for the treatment of Municipal Solid Waste. The facilities would
produce electricity and other valuable co‐products, based on the proprietary plasma technology
developed by Plasco.
IDA, wholly owned by the Polish State Treasury, acts as a mechanism in which the government promotes
economic development in Poland. One of IDA’s official mandates is to promote Innovative
Technologies in Poland. Plasco hosted representatives from IDA to examine the Ottawa facility in
December 2009.
“The Plasco technology holds great promise and opportunity for Poland,” said Professor Jasinski, Advisor
to the Chief Inspector for Environmental Protection (Poland), “By deploying this technology Poland can
again demonstrate its commitment to bettering the environment. Through this step we can focus our
efforts to establish world leading waste solutions in Poland.”
The signing was held today at the IDA Headquarters in Warsaw Poland.
“Plasco is opening a whole new set of opportunities for communities around the world,” said Rod
Bryden CEO of Plasco Energy Group. “Municipal solid waste has traditionally been seen as a difficult
problem. Now countries around the world are looking to turn that problem into a resource and we’re
very proud to have made that change possible.”
